Stieg Larsson (1954-2004) was a Swedish journalist and author best known for his Millennium trilogy featuring journalist Mikael Blomkvist and hacker Lisbeth Salander. Larsson was an investigative journalist who specialized in exposing right-wing extremism. He completed three novels before his sudden death in 2004, and they were published posthumously to massive international success. The trilogy has sold over 100 million copies worldwide and been adapted into films in both Sweden and Hollywood. After Larsson's death, David Lagercrantz and Karin Smirnoff have continued the series.
